Summer 2017 is nearly around the corner and with an unparalleled lineup of events is already shaping up to be HUGE. Here’s ‘what’s on’ for the summer:
Rock legends Aerosmith, one of rock’s greatest bands, will be kicking off their so-called farewell tour in Tel Aviv. The tour, cleverly named the ‘Aero-Vederci Baby!’ tour will take place in the city’s Hayarkon park on May 17th. Expect to hear classic hits like Walk this Way, Janie’s Got a Gun, Cryin’ and Dude (Looks Like a Lady) amongst many others.
COMEDY FOR KOBY-FEATURING BRIAN REGAN-May 25th-29th
The charitable Comedy for Koby series of comedy shows, which helps raise money for victims of terrorism, returns to host one of America’s most popular and accomplished comedians, Brian Regan! Hitting up four cities from May 25-29, starting at the Herzliya Performing Arts Center, the show will be followed by encore performances in Chevel Modi’in (Airport City), Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Often describes as the ultimate ‘comedian’s comedian,’ Brian regularly sells out top arenas in America, proving himself on a style combining physical humor and a sarcastic take on everyday life.
MIDBURN FESTIVAL-May 28th-June 2nd
The annual Midburn Festival-Israel’s version of the famous Burning Man, will take place in the isolated plateaus of the Negev Desert from May 28th-June 2nd. It features a temporary city constructed almost overnight in the desert and promotes creativity, art and radical self-expression.
TEL AVIV ‘WHITE NIGHT’ (Layla Lavan)-June 1st
The annual Tel Aviv ‘White Night’ (Layla Lavan) is one of the foremost cultural nights of the year in a city known for its vibrant and innovative spirit. An amazing, all-night celebration of Tel Aviv’s unique culture, it features over 100 free and low-cost events spread out across the ‘city that never sleeps.’
DURAN DURAN-June 1st
After many years of speculaion, 80’s icons Duran Duran will finally make it to Tel Aviv this summer. The concert is scheduled for June 1st in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon park. Part of the legendary 80’s scene in England, the band went on to sell over 100 million records with hits such as Girls on Film, Save a Prayer and Ordinary World. Did you know: Lead singer Simon LeBon volunteered on a kibbutz back in the 80’s. The band even wrote a song called Tel Aviv!
PRIDE TLV-June 4th-10th
PRIDE TLV-The legendary Tel Aviv Pride Week festival returns to the streets of the city, June 4th-10th. After attracting over 200,000 people from all over the world, the main event-the Pride parade-is expected to be even bigger this year. The city transforms itself into a rainbow canvas of celebration, as the largest LGBTQ community in the Middle East plays host to a dizzying amount of parties, concerts, and events, culminating in a march across town to the beach for the ultimate street party!

PET SHOP BOYS-June 10th
The legendary electro-pop duo will be returning to perform in Israel for the fourth time in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon park on June 10th. The gig is a part of the Pride TLV celebrations. While they’re going to be promoting their 13th studio album Super, we can all expect to hear some MASSIVE 80’s/90’s hits.
ROD STEWART-June 14th
Ultimate rocker Sir Roderick Stewart-one of the music industry’s top-sellers-will perform in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon park on June 14th. With a lifetime of hits (he’s now 72!), we can expect an incredible show including majors such as Baby Jane, Sailing and Have I Told You Lately.
TOM JONES-June 28th
The amazing Sir Tom Jones will be performing at Tel Aviv’s Menorah Arena on June 18th. Now 76 years old, Jones has sold over 100 million records over his illustrious career spanning over half a century. Expect to hear classics like It’s Not Unusual, What’s New Pussycat and Delilah.
BRITTNEY SPEARS-July 3rd
The American pop star who ‘Did it Again’ will be performing for the first time ever in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon park on July 3rd.
GUNS ‘N ROSES-July 15th
American hard rock legend Guns ‘N Roses will be coming to town, featuring the original cast with Axel Rose, Slash and Duff McKagen. Of course, the concert will be taking place at the only venue it could, Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon park on July 15th.
JERUSALEM OPERA FESTIVAL-July 16th-31st
The annual Jerusalem Opera Festival returns, from July 16th-31st. If you love opera, this is THE pl;ace to be. Highlights include a fully-staged production of Puccini’s La Boheme, Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, and the world premiere of the opera The Argonaut’s of Willy Marz.
THE PIXIES-July 25th
One of the hugest alternative rock names of all time, The Pixies will be performing at the iconic Caesarea Ampitheater on July 25th. Loved and cherished in Israel, their two major albums Doolittle and Surfer Rosa have earned them cult-status amongst the Israeli rock scene. The band will be here on their latest tour, promoting their new album Head Carrier.
