In January 2016, we were thrilled to welcome the YTP Fam trip to Israel, an organization of young travel professionals from North America. Introducing the culture, culinary heritage, and natural landscape of Israel to our visitors is highly important to our staff, and our fabulous guides provided an incredibly rewarding and eye-opening experience for YTP in their 8-day journey.
From insider tours through the bustling city of Jerusalem, home visits with families of different cultural backgrounds and music-filled nights out on the town, this first introduction to Israel allowed each guest from YTP to experience the expansive and pluralistic sites of historic and modern Israel in its full capacity.
A visit by the YTP group to northern Israel’s majestic Golan Heights region was chock-filled with several outdoor and insider experiences inaccessible to most travelers, including a Jeep tour in the north of Israel capped with a snow-filled landscape overlooking Mount Hermon; a guided tour and tasting at the renowned Golan Heights Winery; and a hands-on cooking workshop in Jaffa led by homegrown culinary experts who instructed our guests on how to prepare traditional Arabic recipes.
One of the highlights of the tour was undoubtedly an impactful visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, which emphasized the human and historical aspects of the modern state of Israel and the history of the Jewish people.
Impressions from the group were overwhelmingly positive, focusing on the surprises of the tour – ranging from intimate encounters with locals, to the ever-changing landscape of the country – and the impressively immense knowledge of their guide Ilan, who never failed to enchant with his insight.
We at Kenes Tours look forward to curating the next visit by the YTP organization, its clients and members with whom we are always eager to share the beauty of Israel.
