In this youth-focused trip teens explore the many faces of Israel and return inspired. They go beyond the must-see sites, such as Jerusalem’s Old City, Yad Vashem, Masada, the Dead Sea, to learn about hot issues unique to Israel, including its bubbling high-tech industry, world-class science, democracy in a challenging environment, and immigration absorption. Not forgetting to set aside plenty of time for sailing, hiking, snorkeling, rappelling and biking, they spend time with locals, ranging from Israeli youth, to Holocaust survivors and technology entrepreneurs.

Day 1, Wednesday: Welcome to Israel

  • Welcome to Israel with falafel lunch
  • Orientation meeting and ice cream after dinner in a private room in the hotel

Day 2, Thursday: Starting from the Future 

  • Visit the Weizmann Institute of Science and meet young Science Achievers
  • Enjoy lunch at a local coffee shop in Rothschild street
  • Discover Tel Aviv’s world-leading startup ecosystem, ranked one of the world’s most innovative cities

Day 3, Friday: Back to the Past                  

  • Visit Caesarea , the ancient town built by King Herod, and speak to the laser generated characters of Caesarea’s past in the old port
  • Snorkel in kibutz Sdot Yam
  • Participate in Kabbalat Shabbat ceremony followed by Shabbat dinner

Day 4, Saturday: Relaxing at the sea side   

  • Enjoy a Yacht sail
  • Take a towel and go swimming in the Mediterranean at your free time
  • Continue to Seudah Shlishit followed by group Havdalah

Day 5, Sunday: Learning & experience 

  • Participate in activities organized by the “Ketzev Program’ that helps young Israelis build social business for profit ventures
  • Visit Shahar’s studio and discuss the numerology paintings, followed by a paint workshop
  • Drive to the Absorption center in Karmiel to meet with ‘rescued teenagers’ from the Ukraine and Russia
  • Enjoy Kumzits around the bonfire

Day 6, Monday: Fun in the Galilee    

  • Hike the  Banias waterfalls
  • Stop at Tel Hai , the historic site that commemorates the heroism of the Hula Valley pioneers
  • Participate in a chocolate making workshop in De Karina chocolate factory at Kibutz Ein Zivan
  • Drive via the Valley of Tears to hear about the heroic tank battle that took place during the Yom Kippur War
  • Join a jeeptour through the foothills of the Golan Heights
  • Take a moonlight tour of the Kalat Nimrod Castle

Day 7, Tuesday: North to South  

  • Tour the Old Bridge at Gesher in the Jordan Valley providing a glimpse into pioneer life in the pre-state era
  • Visit Ein Gedi for a water hike to Nahal David waterfalls
  • Swim in the Dead Sea
  • Enjoy a camel ride and traditional Bedouin hospitality in Kfar Hanokdim
  • campfire with a drummers’ circle

Day 8, Wednesday: Living in the Desert      

  • Climb the top of Masada to see the sunrise over the Dead Sea
  • Visit the town of Ofakim to do a treasure hunt on bicycles through the town
  • Visit the tombs of David and Paula Ben Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister and his wife, in Sde Boker
  • Experience late night star gazing in the desert

Day 9, Thursday: Wonders of the Crater 

  • Try field navigation in the Ramon Crater including pita baking and herbal teas  
  • Rappel down the crater’s cliff or take a bike ride through the amazing sceneries of the crater

Day 10, Friday: Digging on the way to Jerusalem    

  • Drive to Beit Guvrin for a hands on  archeological dig
  • Recite Schechiayanu at the Haas Promenade
  • Participate in Kabbalat Shabbat ceremony at the Kotel
  • Enjoy festive Shabbat dinner in the hotel

Day 11, Saturday: Shabbat in the Holy City     

  • Day at leisure
  • Watch the night Sound and Light Show at Jerusalem’s Tower of David

Day 12, Sunday: The D(emocracy) Day 

  • Participate in an Israeli Democracy Seminar
  • Tour of the Supreme Court and a drive by the Knesset
  • Help pack dry foods for families that live below the poverty line with Pantry packers

Day 13, Monday: Emotions & senses 

  • Visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Museum and meet with a survivor who will share his personal story
  • Continue to Machne Yehuda Food and Spice Market for a late “grazing” lunch

Day 14, Tuesday: Inside the Old City walls 

  • Visit the City of David excavations and water hike through Hezekiah tunnels
  • Walk through the alleyways of the Old City stopping for a humus lunch
  • End your day with a tour through the Western Wall tunnels

Day 15, Wednesday: Leadership and Israeli Palestine coexistence

  • Join a leadership seminar at Neve Shalom
  • Reflect on the program in the summary session

Day 16, Thursday: Time to go home

  • Drive to Tel Aviv and free time in Neve Tzedek and Old Jaffa
  • Transfer to airport for return flights
