Travel Advisory: New Entry Requirements for Europe and Israel

Effective January 1, 2025, all U.S. citizens traveling to Israel must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) before arriving in Israel.  Travelers must apply at least 72 hours prior to departure from the U.S.; preferably prior to purchasing airline tickets. The cost per application is approximately $7 USD (25 shekels) .https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/

Upon approval, the visa is valid for up to two years or until the traveler’s passport expires (whichever comes first). The ETA-IL also acts as an authorization for visitors and expedites the entry process. For more information and to apply, click here or enter https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il into your internet browser.

This is great news for travelers, as the system will let you know in advance if there are any concerns – thereby eliminating potential stress and issues to deal with at the airport.

Starting in May of 2025, all U.S. citizens planning European trips must apply for authorization through the Europe Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS). This program will identify security risks, migration matters, and health considerations for visa-exempt visitors.
ETIAS primarily is a travel authorization. It facilitates tourism, business trips, and other short-term visits to the Schengen Area. Once authorized, a stay in Europe is permitted for up to 90 contiguous days for business or tourism purposes.

The fee for an ETIAS application is about $8 USD (7 euros). This one-time payment is valid for multiple stays in the Schengen Area for up to three years or until the expiration of the traveler’s passport, whichever comes first.
