When air raid sirens blared over Israel early Saturday morning, Oct. 7, thousands of American Jews — business people, tourists, and high school students — were suddenly trapped in a war zone. Flights were quickly canceled, and many, including more than 100 American teens participating in the Alexander Muss High School in Israel program, needed to get out of the country.
Kenes Tours CEO Cheri Levitan — after personally receiving the request for assistance from JNF-USA’s Deena Shiff — scrambled to arrange flights, hotel accommodations, and meals to get them home safely.
